Elizabeth and Amanda gave a report about chickens to the group.
We talked about the pennies for peace program and also the book club. We are still working on setting up a date. It will be held at Mrs. Suzanne's house. It seemed that some other people were interested, so I guess what we are waiting for is to find a date that works for the people that are interested.
Beth and Susan led an activity planting seeds. Erin is going to let everyone know a good way to grow the seedlings so that by the Tree Fair they will be tall and healthy and ready for an early planting. (Del Freeman told her how to do this.) Everyone was given charts to chart the progress of their seedlings. We were going to compare seedlings grown in inorganic dirt and seedlings grown in organic dirt, but actually, all the potting soil we had on hand was organic. But - Beth said she would bring some fertilizer to Specials Day and hand that out and then we could make half of our seedlings inorganic by adding the fertilizer.
We had a guest, Jolanda Ferguson, from a Roots and Shoots group in Columbia and they would like to help us out with the Tree Fair. She is going to have a meeting today with her group and she said she will then figure out what they would be doing to help us out.
Remember to keep working on your projects for the tree fair, because our next meeting is project check-in, so by that date (see calendar on right) it should be ready or almost ready.
The leadership meeting on Mar. 16 may be rescheduled.
